Former midfielder Andrea Orlandi struggled to find opportunities at Swansea under new boss Brendan Rodgers, as injury issues affected his availability. Rodgers’ plan to change the system left Orlandi unsure of his role, and despite being promised a spot in the midfield, he was unable to play due to physical limitations, despite taking several pills in an attempt to do so. Following his time at Swansea, Orlandi went on to play for Brighton and Blackpool before retiring in 2019 after stints in Cyprus, India, and Italy. Today, he works as a pundit for La Liga in his home country.
