During his six-plus years stay, he scored 71 times and set up 49 goals in 242 appearances. One of the biggest challenges he faced was understanding the Scottish accent, particularly from his manager Gordon Strachan. In his first two weeks, he struggled to understand the instructions given to him, which sounded like ‘bull-oot’. He eventually adapted by conversing with his teammate, Scott Brown, who helped him pick up more words and understand the accent.
Over time, he started using Scottish words himself and felt more integrated into the culture.
