Rugby player Billy Vunipola Tasered twice by police during arrest for ‘violent incident’ – Daily Star

England rugby international Billy Vunipola was arrested in Majorca after an alleged violent incident at a pub. It was reported that he had to be Tasered twice by the police.

Vunipola, who plays rugby for Saracens in Premiership Rugby, was taken to a nearby hospital and then to court after the incident. His current whereabouts were unknown and it was understood that he had been released on bail pending an investigation.

Police sources confirmed Vunipola’s arrest and stated that he was taken to the hospital before being handed over to the courts. The bar where the incident occurred was closed early the next morning, and the police are expected to make a formal statement about the incident later.

Vunipola, who won a scholarship to attend Harrow School, made his senior rugby debut at the age of 18 and has since earned nearly 80 caps for England. He comes from a family with a strong rugby background, as both his father and uncle played for Tonga, and his cousin has been capped by Wales and the British and Irish Lions.
