Alien life, potentially including animals, might exist on a Jupiter moon, as suggested by astrobiologist Adam Frank. He believes there could be entire ecosystems thriving in the dark watery depths of the moon.
However, the exploration and confirmation of extraterrestrial life within our solar system may have to wait until probes can penetrate the 10-mile thick ice covering these potentially habitable areas. According to Frank, studies of our solar system have revealed that habitability involves more than just being in the habitable zone.
He points to Enceladus, which ejects geysers of salty water vapor into space, raising the possibility of life forming on these ocean moons. While there are plans to send fly-over missions to Jupiter’s icy moons in the next few years, definitive answers to these questions may have to wait until probes can delve beneath the surface and explore the oceans of these moons.
In a separate incident, the summer of 1967 saw Stefan Michalak, a Polish immigrant residing in Canada, visit Falcon Lake in Manitoba. Stefan, an amateur geologist, had been exploring the area in search of gold and quartz.
The bizarre account of this incident was shared on the It Gets Weird podcast by host Nile.
