Since his early career promise, Jordon Ibe has not fulfilled expectations. The National League club, Ebbsfleet, released him after only one appearance this season. Ibe had joined them on a deal until this summer last October.
The winger, who previously played 119 times in the English top flight, had also stints at Derby County and Turkish side Adanaspor after leaving Bournemouth in 2020. He had openly discussed his mental health struggles while at Derby in January 2021, apologizing to his fans and acknowledging his battle with depression. Despite the challenges, he expressed his commitment to overcoming the situation with the support of his family and the club.
Ebbsfleet thanked Ibe and the other eight departing players for their service as they avoided relegation with a 0-0 draw away at Boreham Wood on the final day of the season.
