Fans Create Parody of Iconic Ronaldo and Messi Photo with YouTubers at Soccer Aid – Daily Star

Two football icons, with a total of 13 Ballon d’Ors between them, were captured playing chess on an LV suitcase. The image quickly became one of the most liked photos on the platform with 42 million likes on the original post. Soccer Aid, a British charity football match, paid tribute to this iconic photo ahead of their UNICEF-organised game on June 9. They posted an AI-created photo of two participants, YouTubers Miniminter and Theo Baker, engaging in a similar chess match.

However, the homage did not have the intended impact, as it generated confusion among fans about the identities of the individuals in the photo. Some fans were also disappointed, pointing out the decline of the charity event over the years. The tweet received over three million views, and Soccer Aid’s official account has 21 million subscribers. Miniminter has 160,000 followers on the platform and 6.3 million on Instagram, while Theo Baker is known for his football videos and vlogs and has 1.4 million YouTube subscribers and half a million Instagram followers.

The caption of the tweet emphasized the significance of this moment in football history.
