Daisy’s Dromedairy in the UK is the first and only camel dairy in the country. The farm’s creative director, Daisy Fossett, recommends switching to camel milk from cows’ milk.
She expressed her enthusiasm for camel milk, mentioning that she enjoys it in tea and finds it ideal for making frothy lattes. She also highlighted the purity and delicious taste of camel milk, emphasizing the absence of chemicals.
The camel dairy was launched by Daisy and her family in Idlicote, Warks, in 2021. This initiative aligns with research from the University of Oxford, which suggests that camels are better for the planet than cows due to their lower methane emissions.
Rebecca, Daisy’s mother, previously spoke to the Raw Milk Association about the family’s background and expertise with camels. She explained that her husband, Joseph, comes from a circus background and is a professional wild animal trainer with extensive experience in working with camels.
Rebecca cautioned against underestimating the challenges of camel farming, reflecting on the tough experiences they have encountered. The family’s deep knowledge and experience in working with camels, encompassing over three decades of expertise and insights from global camel experts, have uniquely positioned them in the camel dairy industry.
