Corach Rambler, trained by Lucinda Russell, is aiming for a consecutive win at the upcoming event. However, strong competition is expected from a number of Irish contenders, including those trained by Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott. The main race is scheduled to begin at 4pm, which is 1 hour and 15 minutes earlier than last year’s start time, in a move aimed at ensuring better ground conditions for the horses.
The race will be aired live on ITV1, with the coverage commencing at 12.55pm on Saturday. The favorite for the 2024 Grand National is Corach Rambler, the winner of the 2023 race, although I Am Maximus and Vanillier are also considered strong contenders. The total prize money for the event is £1 million, with the winner set to receive just over £500,000.
Additionally, the top 10 finishers will be awarded prize money, ranging from £211,000 for the second-place finisher to £1,000 for the 10th place.
