Before the Newport game, Ten Hag mentioned that Rashford had “reported ill” when questioned about his absence, elaborating that it was an “internal matter” which he was dealing with. When asked if the issue had anything to do with Rashford being at the nightclub during the week, Ten Hag responded with a vague statement.
