One of them was a rehashed version of 2 Unlimited’s song, later changed to “Seven Nation Army” by someone Van Gerwen has never met. Mighty Mike admits he’s never found out who made the choice to change his track but would like to shake that person’s hand as it has created one of the most recognizable entrances in darts. The song “Seven Nation Army” has achieved cult hero status in Europe, especially in Serbia.
It topped the charts in several countries and was ranked 321st on Q Magazine’s “1001 Best Songs Ever.” Released in 1996, the song was a favorite of a younger MVG who was into dance/electronic music. Now, the teen sensation is taking his talents to the UK and Europe as he competes in the Premier League.
