New video reveals Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp’s interaction before touchline argument – Daily Star

The TNT Sports cameras captured a tense moment between Klopp and Salah during the dying minutes of Saturday’s early game. Salah, who was initially benched, was ready to come on as a substitute after being left out of the starting line-up, which sparked a reaction among fans on social media. Klopp downplayed the touchline incident in his post-match chat, mentioning that he and Salah had resolved the issue in the locker room and considered it resolved.

However, a circulating video on social media has brought new attention to the altercation, indicating that a cold handshake may have triggered the fallout. As Klopp called on Salah to prepare for his introduction, the Egyptian’s response to Klopp’s offered handshake was delayed and minimal. Salah seemingly shrugged off Klopp’s attempt to address the lack of their usual warm pre-substitution greeting.

The TV cameras caught the disagreement escalating, with Klopp making a remark that visibly angered Salah, who had to be restrained by Nunez approximately 40 seconds after their initial exchange. Salah then distanced himself from Klopp, moving several yards down the touchline, with Gomez and Nunez standing in-between them. Despite eventually being introduced, Salah was unable to ignite the comeback that Liverpool needed, and he stormed straight down the tunnel at the final whistle.
