The seventh-tier club recently announced Sam Wilson as their new boss. However, the Blues have since deleted any posts acknowledging his appointment and confirmed Wilson’s contract was terminated “by mutual consent” on Tuesday evening. Wilson reacted to his move online and said he was “grateful for the opportunity.”
His post remained online as of Wednesday morning and clearly shows Rylands deleted their original post welcoming him to the club. “Thank you all so much for your good wishes,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. “I am completely overwhelmed by all the messages I have received.
Your kindness and support means a lot.” The club had made his move permanent on a two-year contract before that deal was abandoned. A club statement released on X, read: “The club has tonight terminated the contract of manager, Sam Wilson, by mutual consent.
No further comment will be made by the club.” Rylands now need to find a new manager for their final two games of the regular season, plus at least one play-off game.
