Oldest Pro Boxer, 67, Challenges John Fury for 60th Bout – Daily Star

Steve Ward, 67, is the oldest competitive boxer in the world. He has expressed his frustration with Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, and has offered to fight him in what would be the 60th fight of Ward’s career. John Fury, a former professional heavyweight boxer, has not fought since 1995.

Ward, who holds the record as the oldest boxer to have a competitive fight at the age of 54 in 2011 and broke his own record at 64, wants to settle the apparent beef with Fury, despite his uninspiring fighting record of 41 defeats and only 15 wins. Ward has repeatedly mentioned that Fury’s talk about him being an old man and not deserving to be a world champ has caused him distress. He has expressed that he would rather not talk about it, but instead get something done about it.

Ward, emphasizing his identity as a fighter, has put forth the challenge and has suggested that Fury either send him an apology if it was not him spreading such rumors, or they could get something on, indicating that he is prepared to fight.
