People Now Realizing Emirates is Named Arsenal Stadium in Champions League – Daily Star

The Emirates Stadium, home to the Gunners, is known as the Arsenal Stadium when the UEFA Champions League is in town. This is due to little-known UEFA rules prohibiting stadium sponsors.

According to section three of Article 68 of the official UEFA rule handbook, stadium naming rights granted by the club are subject to UEFA requirements. UEFA has a history of enforcing strict sponsorship rules and has even forced teams to change their names and alter their club crest to comply.

For example, Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg had to drop their sponsor and simply be known as FC Salzburg. Arsenal fans, however, may not be concerned about their stadium’s name as recognized by UEFA, since the team has been outside of Europe’s top competition for a significant period of time.

Despite Bayern Munich’s history and having a fit and firing Harry Kane, they have been out of form in the Bundesliga and appear unlikely to win the title for the first time in 12 years. As a result, the Champions League might be their only hope of winning a trophy this season.

As for the TNT Sports package, it includes a variety of sports content such as exclusive discovery+ Originals, live Eurosport events, and coverage of Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches. The package is priced at £30.99 per month.
