Pep Guardiola scolds Jeremy Doku in front of fans after Man City defeat Brighton – Daily Star

Pep Guardiola wasn’t holding back as he gave Jeremy Doku a stern talking-to after Man City’s impressive victory over Brighton. Despite the convincing win, Pep appeared visibly annoyed and didn’t hesitate to show it.

Doku came on as a substitute for Bernardo Silva in the 78th minute and had limited impact on the game, but Guardiola still expressed his frustration with him in front of the exiting fans. Guardiola has a history of addressing his players post-match to assert his authority.

When asked why he chooses to publicly reprimand players instead of doing so in the locker room, Guardiola jokingly attributed it to his “ego” and the desire for attention. He admitted to using the cameras to criticize his players and take the credit for their success, all in the name of his ego.

He even suggested that the media should refrain from filming them to avoid such issues in the future. A double from Phil Foden, alongside goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Julian Alvarez, secured a comfortable win over Brighton, placing City just one point behind league leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.
