Recently in Weatherfield, Steve (Simon Gregson) finds himself heartbroken following his wife Tracy’s (Kate Ford) departure. Tracy had been involved in an affair earlier in the year with Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn), a former footballer turned decorator, and they were eventually discovered in the classic soap fashion. Despite attempting to reconcile with Steve, Tracy received a note from Tommy asking her to join him in Spain, leading to her decision to relocate to Spain with him. In a surprising twist, Steve takes the initiative to go on a date with one of his matches, and at the Rovers Return, a mysterious woman named Aurora, portrayed by Fame Academy star Pippa Fulton, arrives.
Pippa, known for her time on the talent series in 2002 and her participation in the BAFTA-nominated Channel 4 show Hullraisers, sets her sights on Steve’s pal Tim Metcalfe. When Tim’s wife Sally discovers him interacting with Aurora, she is less than pleased. Though it seems as though Steve is moving on from Tracy, her potential return to the soap could be closer than expected. Tracy recently bid farewell at The Rovers, and there is speculation from Sharon about the possibility of her return affecting Steve’s new romance storyline.
