The 27-year-old golfer is anticipating the arrival of his first child with his wife, Meredith. Despite being in the lead heading into the final round at Augusta National, he has pledged to leave immediately once he receives the call about the birth – ideally, not during the closing hours of the tournament.
His top performance at Augusta has positioned him at the top of the leaderboard alongside Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Aberg as they head into the back nine. Unfortunately, due to her advanced stage of pregnancy, Scheffler’s wife was unable to travel to Georgia, necessitating his quick departure back home to Dallas to be present for the birth.
He expressed his excitement about this new phase for their family, emphasizing their eagerness for a healthy arrival for both mother and baby. The couple, who first met in high school, initially bonded at Highland Park High School in Texas before attending separate universities in the state.
Their enduring love culminated in their engagement in June 2020 and subsequent marriage. Scheffler emphasized the importance of his wife’s presence in his life, noting that she values his hard work and perseverance, regardless of his professional achievements.
