Ajax suffer 6-0 defeat against bitter rivals in “Jordan Henderson effect” catastrophe – Daily Star

Ajax suffered their heaviest-ever defeat in De Klassieker and Eredivisie history, in what marks a new low for their difficult season. In the game, they managed just one shot at goal, compared to Feyenoord’s 30. This has resulted in dashed hopes for their first league title since 2022, as they sit 33 points behind Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven, and 24 points adrift of second-placed Feyenoord.

Despite Ajax missing Jordan Henderson due to injury, fans took aim at the England midfielder, with one user attributing the mammoth defeat to the “Henderson effect.” The team’s prospects have dimmed, and their best outcome now seems to be a fourth-place finish and a spot in the Europa League second qualifying round. The 6-0 defeat represents only the third time in their 124-year history that they have lost by that scoreline.

The future does not appear promising for Ajax.
