Arne Slot’s Feyenoord press conference called off due to connection with Liverpool job – Daily Star

Arne Slot made his mark in senior management with AZ Alkmaar in 2019, and his reputation has been on the rise ever since. His sudden cancellation of a Wednesday press conference to preview an upcoming Eredivisie match has raised eyebrows. Liverpool have now identified Slot as a leading candidate. Slot is known for his 4-2-3-1 formation and aggressive attacking style, making him likely to impress Anfield’s top brass.

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi doesn’t seem to be a top priority for the Merseyside club. Slot’s reputation and style have caught the attention of Liverpool, including CEO of Football Michael Edwards and incoming sporting director Richard Hughes, who are overseeing the appointment process. Often referred to as ‘The Pep Guardiola of the Eredivisie’, Slot is a mate of Klopp’s assistant, Pepijn Lijnders, who is also set to leave Anfield this summer.
