The Champions League has an expanded tournament, to be held in the United States, including 12 European teams. Arsenal, who could have been one of these teams if they had won the Champions League, missed out.
The spot instead went to Austria’s RB Salzburg. Teams qualify for the tournament by winning the Champions League since 2021 or through a ranking system based on their performances in UEFA’s top club competition over a four-year period.
While some fans are eagerly anticipating the new Club World Cup, others couldn’t resist poking fun at Arsenal’s missed opportunity, with jokes circulating on social media about the club getting knocked out of two competitions in one night. This has ignited discussions and speculation among fans about the unusual occurrence.
