Rex explained: “Throughout the day, adenosine – a chemical which effectively promotes sleep – builds up in your brain. As you remain awake, it accumulates and makes you feel sleepy.

“But caffeine can block these adenosine receptors, keeping you more awake. If you’ve ever questioned why you struggle with sleep after consuming coffee during the day, this could be the reason.”

Coffee is typically the go-to morning pick-me-up for most people, whether they prefer it iced or hot. However, it’s worth trying an alternative to feel the benefits.

The powder is rich in L-theanine, an amino acid found in tea plants. It contains five times more L-theanine than green tea, lending it a slightly sweet flavor.

This amino acid is believed to boost sleep, focus, and even learning. Depending on how it’s brewed, it might be best to enjoy this a few hours before bedtime to maximize the benefits.
