Daily Star: Gary Neville to Make DJing Debut at Music Festival Alongside Rock Icon

Former footballer Gary Neville, now 48 years old, is set to make his DJ debut in August, marking a new venture in his musical pursuits. This will not be his first foray into music, as he previously showcased his guitar skills in a rooftop session alongside The Charlatans in 2015.

Neville and The Charlatans are scheduled to perform together at Kendal Calling, an annual showcase held at Lowther Deer Park in Cumbria on the first weekend of August. While some expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, there was also criticism from fans, with one dubbing the line-up “the worst in recent history.”

Despite the mixed reception, those familiar with Neville’s musical interests might anticipate an enjoyable performance, particularly if he demonstrates the same level of skill with decks as with a planning committee. Meanwhile, The Charlatans’ lead singer, Tim Burgess, who has been with the band since its inception in 1988, is known for his iconic status in British rock and shares a common affinity with Neville as a major supporter of Manchester United.

With three of The Charlatans’ albums topping the UK charts and Burgess’ esteemed position in British rock, there are high hopes for a harmonious and captivating musical collaboration from the pair during their upcoming performance.
