England fans advised to book hotels for Euros in area known as “Germany’s biggest slum”.

UEFA has designated hotels in Bahnhofsviertel, the area surrounding Frankfurt’s railway station, as a base for English fans. The area has gained notoriety for its roughness, to the extent that road sweepers are given police protection and US companies advise employees to take taxis for short journeys. Additionally, two local schools have requested a dedicated security force from the authorities. Passers-by in Bahnhofsviertel have reported being robbed and threatened, with some attributing the aggressive behavior to long-term crack usage.

As a result, conflicts with the scene have become common, leaving individuals feeling harassed and pushed. In light of these concerning reports, the recommendation from UEFA to British fans about accommodations in Bahnhofsviertel has raised questions about the suitability and safety of the area. UEFA’s advice directs fans to consider various accommodation options near the Central Station and throughout the Bahnhofsviertel area. However, the area’s reputation for aggression and criminal activity raises concerns about the safety and security of English fans during their stay.

England’s upcoming match in Frankfurt on 20 June against Denmark is set to take place before their final group stage match with Slovenia in Cologne.
