Everton may face third points deduction over £6 million new stadium costs – Daily Star

With just seven games left in the season, Everton find themselves precariously positioned just two points above the relegation zone. The Toffees will face scrutiny regarding their compliance with profit and sustainability rules, as they have exceeded the allowable loss limit by £16.6m up to 2022-23.

Their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is a focal point, with the potential breach related to interest costs around its construction. The Commission’s report indicates the need for further investigation into this matter, with a subsequent hearing pending.

Aside from the potential breach, Everton contends that the costs in question should be excluded, as they have been capitalized on their latest audited accounts, a standard practice. However, the Premier League argues that it constitutes a further breach.

Everton has expressed their intention to challenge the Commission’s decision, raising concerns about inconsistencies in points deductions applied and reaffirming their commitment to working with the League on relevant matters. Outside of regulatory issues, Everton treats its community members to competitions, special offers, promotions, and advertisements from both the club and its partners.
