Haaland bicycle kick leads to Man City goal despite heading for corner flag – Daily Star

The ball fell to struggling striker Haaland in the box after Jeremy Doku’s shot ricocheted into the air. The Norwegian went for the spectacular, attempting a first-time volley with his back turned to goal. As with many of Haaland’s attempts of late, it was struck poorly and seemed to be going well wide of the net.

But in a spectacular stroke of luck, it cannoned into the side of oncoming defender Daiki Hashioka’s head and in, as Luton players were left scratching their heads. And fans on social media were not about to let Haaland get away with being awarded the goal. City had to wait a while for their second despite scoring so early on, with Mateo Kovacic finding the net in the 64th minute.

Haaland did manage to get his 20th league goal of the season, scoring from the penalty spot after Doku was brought down. Ross Barkley pulled one back for the struggling visitors, but Doku and Josko Gvardiol struck late on to complete a 5-1 drubbing.
