Dowie, 59, had been participating in an exercise session at his local gym when he suddenly collapsed. Following the scary episode, he took the time to express his gratitude to those who assisted in saving his life.

“I had a big cardiac arrest, unfortunately,” he stated. “Lots of people looked after me and did some great things in the gym.

Then the ambulance looked after me and I ended up in hospital for a good few days. I’ve been brilliant since and the heart is in good shape.

I’ve got a little thing, an ICD [implantable cardioverter-defibrillator] fitted that I hope will keep me going for another 20 years.” Dowie has also had coaching stints at QPR, Oldham, and Coventry during his career.

When asked about his contributions, Bruce mentioned, “There has been no set role as such but he has been really helping out, from putting the kit out to doing the dishes, taking sessions or working one-to-one with players.” Additionally, the community offers competitions, special offers, promotions, and advertisements from the organizers and their partners.
