Jadon Sancho’s Dortmund revival to benefit Man Utd the most – Daily Star

Just over three months ago, Sancho found himself the forgotten man of football. His England career looked to be finished, while the one at Old Trafford didn’t look much more promising. The winger had made just three appearances for United before deciding to leave and rejoin Borussia Dortmund on loan. His time in exile in Manchester was due to a public fallout between him and United boss Ten Hag.

Sancho accused his manager of lying about him on social media, leading to a demand for an apology, which was not forthcoming. This resulted in Sancho being stuck in the deep freeze for weeks on end, training and eating away from the first team at the club’s Carrington complex. Dortmund offered him a golden chance to go back to the Bundesliga and Sancho seized it, and then some. His stock is rising back in Manchester as well, and with each impressive performance, his transfer value increases.

His loan agreement with Dortmund expires on July 1, when he will return to United. If Ten Hag remains as manager, Sancho will have to prove to him that his attitude has improved, but the manager’s stance on him has not changed. Given the bad blood between the pair, it is unlikely that this scenario will play out. United will likely look to sell Sancho to the highest bidder, with Dortmund at the front of the queue.

The German club knows Sancho well and has a strong working relationship with United. Alongside this, the player himself feels at home there. So from the depths of despair, Sancho’s future looks bright again, while one of United’s problems awaiting them this summer might not be too difficult to fix.
