Liverpool labeled as “extremely fortunate” after scoring goal that ricocheted off three West Ham players – Daily Star

The Hammers welcomed Jurgen Klopp’s men to the London Stadium on Saturday lunchtime, and it was a slow affair in the first-half. Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring just before the interval, but Liverpool levelled the game through Andy Robertson minutes after the restart. The Reds then found themselves ahead when Cody Gakpo’s tame shot bounced between West Ham stars Angelo Ogbonna, Tomas Soucek and Alphonse Areola and into the net. Football fans took to social media to slam their luck in front of goal.

“Liverpool so lucky,” one fan fumed. While a second said: “I’ve watched a lot of Liverpool games this season, the amount of lucky bounces and stuff that goes your way is nuts…”

“I implore you to look how many lucky goals Liverpool have scored this season. They should be on about 60 points no word of a lie,” a third posted. And another added: “Areola has single-handedly gifted this game to Liverpool.

So lucky…”

The Hammers had Liverpool on the ropes, and cracks were starting appear.
