The predominantly left-sided attacker is expected to be sold for a fee of around £25m. Savio first joined Troyes in 2022, then was loaned to PSV Eindhoven and Girona last summer. Despite never making an appearance for Troyes, the club still holds his registration.
The arrival of Savio would add more competition to City’s forward line, which has already seen new additions over the past year, including Jeremy Doku and Oscar Bobb. City didn’t bring in any new faces for the first team during the January transfer window, but they did sign young Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri for £12.5m. The 19-year-old will stay at River Plate for the rest of the year to get more regular football.
Savio has scored five goals and registered seven assists in 23 appearances for Girona in La Liga. He will stay at Girona until the summer and is focused on helping the club make history as they chase the Spanish league title and a top-four finish.
