Manchester United could sign Ivan Toney in a cut-price transfer, claims Daily Star.

Toney has been rumored to leave Brentford this summer, expressing his desire to move to a bigger club as his contract’s final 12 months in west London approaches. He could potentially be available for a reduced fee of around £40-50 million. Arsenal, once interested, now seems less inclined towards pursuing Toney, while Chelsea appears to be considering other targets.

Wilcox is set to lead United’s transfer strategy with new CEO Omar Berrada, focused on raising funds from player sales to comply with Premier League profit and sustainability rules. The club aims to strengthen their forward department to support Rasmus Hojlund in the upcoming season, especially with the likelihood of Anthony Martial’s departure. Although Toney’s contract extends to 2025, obtaining the 28-year-old will come at a substantial cost.

Brentford’s technical director, Lee Dykes, emphasizes that any potential transfer of the England international will be on their terms, even with his contract set to expire next year.
