Manchester United’s Brandon Williams set for trial after denying driving charges – Daily Star

The full-back has been on loan at Ipswich Town since the start of the 2023-24 season. In August 2023, he was charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance, relating to an alleged incident on a dual carriageway near Wilmslow bypass in Cheshire the previous summer. Williams denies the charges. Williams, 23, appeared at Chester Crown Court on April 19, speaking only to confirm his name and enter his not guilty pleas during a short hearing.

Judge Simon Berkson scheduled the start of the trial for March 17, 2025, and granted Williams unconditional bail until that date. The court heard that the trial is expected to last around three days. Officers attended the scene of a collision involving a grey Audi and a Ford Fiesta, leading to the arrest of the Audi’s driver – a situation that resulted in Williams returning to United for treatment to an unspecified injury. It was recently confirmed by Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna that the former England U21 international could potentially depart from Old Trafford, as his contract with United is set to expire at the end of the season.
