Andreas Pereira, a talented Brazilian midfielder, joined Manchester United’s academy in 2011 after gaining attention for his performances with PSV Eindhoven’s youth team. Despite interest from other clubs, United secured his services and he fondly recalls the surprising meeting with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Pereira’s deep-rooted support for the club led him to choose United, and his initial encounter with Ferguson left a lasting impression. Pereira spent 11 years at United, but struggled to secure regular first-team opportunities.
He went on loan to Flamengo before joining Fulham in 2022, reflecting on the impact of his formative years at United. He acknowledges the influence of Warren Joyce, who emphasized the importance of hard work, and recalls his first tough tackle with the first team, guided by advice from fellow player Anderson.
After experiencing the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, Pereira expressed his desire to play and received an invitation from the president of Flamengo to join the team.
