Premier League icon shockingly revealed as new manager of a club in the UAE – Daily Star

The former defender was appointed as the head coach of Al Qabila, a new football team that has yet to play a professional game. Varahram’s video shows him discussing the new coach’s impressive CV with an associate.

However, the 38-year-old former Magpies captain Taylor appeared in an all-black suit, striking a comical stance, and expressing his excitement to be a part of the tribe. Steven Taylor, a surprise for some, has valuable experience as a manager too.

His most recent managerial stint came with UAE side Gulf United from 2022 to 2023, where he guided the club to back-to-back promotions. Taylor was still in charge of the team when he offered Varahram his first professional football contract in September 2022.

In a photo from his time with Newcastle United, Taylor can be seen celebrating after scoring a goal in a match against Burnley.
