Narco chemical terrorism wave: cartel may use drones to drop fentanyl – Daily Star

The effects of a recent attack carried out by the CJNG (Jalisco New Generation Cartel) were felt by several locals and six community police officers, leading to concerns about an elevated terror threat in the affected area. According to Dr. Bunker, the cartel’s ongoing advancements in weaponry raise the potential for more frightening developments. He pointed out the past instances of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) being attached to drones and the use of IED bomblets. Additionally, he suggested the possibility of the cartel employing what he termed as “narco chemical weapons terrorism” to induce mass panic, particularly if substances like aerosolized fentanyl were utilized in such attacks.

Dr. Bunker raised the scenario of villagers being displaced from their homes or forcing the withdrawal of rival cartel or law enforcement personnel through these tactics. He also warned that the use of aerosolized substances dropped from drones could result in casualties, potentially escalating into a situation where chemical weapons are being utilized by the cartels. He highlighted the CJNG as the prime candidate to attempt such tactics, given their history of pioneering new weaponry.
