Newcastle fans find Man Utd offer for Dan Ashworth ‘less than what Toon paid’ amusing – Daily Star

The former Brighton and FA guru is expected to leave St James’ Park for Old Trafford as Sir Jim Ratcliffe restructures operations at Manchester United. However, Newcastle is holding out and refusing to let Ashworth leave for a low price. The Magpies are demanding £15 million with an additional £5 million in add-ons, a significant increase from Man United’s original offer. This is almost £2 million less than the amount Newcastle paid to bring Ashworth from Brighton, although there are suggestions that the actual payment was closer to £2 million.

Despite this, Newcastle’s resistance has left Ratcliffe feeling frustrated. Previously, he mentioned that it would be “a bit silly” if it took £20 million to secure Ashworth’s services and finds it absurd that a skilled individual is being undervalued. The pursuit of Dan Ashworth by Man Utd has raised some opinions, with one individual stating “Man U only offered £2m for Dan Ashworth. Just spat out my tea”.
