Premier League removes important part of season calendar requested by Jurgen Klopp – Daily Star

The decision to start the season later has been made in order to provide players with more rest during the summer. This change will allow the season to return to its previous schedule, following several alterations. The full package of TNT Sports includes exclusive discovery+ originals, Discovery, TLC, Quest, Really, and more, as well as live Eurosport coverage of cycling, tennis, snooker, motorsports, and more. Furthermore, it encompasses all cycling Grand Tours, the Australian Open, Roland-Garros Tennis, and the Olympic Games Paris 2024 from Eurosport.

Additionally, it offers coverage of the Premier League and exclusive UEFA Champions League, NBA, Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, Boxing, UFC, WWE, and more for £30.99 per month. This change will provide a longer summer break, with plans in place to give all Premier League players a consecutive three-week break. The decision was based on expert advice from medical and technical departments, who believe that a longer period of complete rest in the summer is more beneficial than a short break in the winter. From the 2024/25 season, the traditional curtain raiser, the Community Shield, will take place on 10 August, the Saturday before the start of the Premier League season.

However, from next season, this will no longer be the case. Especially during the holiday season, matches are lined up back-to-back from Boxing Day through to New Year’s Day. However, this luxury will be off the cards, as the Premier League and various cup tournaments are set to run uninterrupted from the season’s kick-off.
