Prince William Breaks Silence, Makes Promise to Kate After Her Cancer Diagnosis – Daily Star

The future king rolled up his sleeves to help out at Surplus to Supper, a food charity in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey. He was handed two “get well soon” cards for the King and his wife by volunteer Rachel Candappa, 71. Touched by the gesture, William expressed his gratitude and said, “Thank you, you are very kind.” When Rachel urged him to take good care of Kate, he reassuringly placed his hand on her shoulder and committed with a heartfelt “I will”.

Rachel expressed her surprise at being able to give the cards to William, and recounted her positive interaction with him. She also commented on his down-to-earth demeanor. During the visit, Rachel asked William how he knew so much about the charity. Founded in 2017, Surplus to Supper moves on average 10 tons of food every week to various organizations.

William offloaded a crate of supplies from his Adelaide Cottage kitchen, including pasta, potatoes, and canned soup for donation. Additionally, Rachel offered words of encouragement to the future king, expressing confidence that with the support of his family, he would overcome his health challenges. She praised his focus on maintaining health and protecting his children during difficult times, and assured him of the nation’s support.
