Rotherham and Birmingham match postponed due to medical emergency at Championship clash – Daily Star

The Championship clash at Rotherham’s New York Stadium was interrupted when the referee stopped the game after only nine minutes. The players were removed from the pitch while medical attention was given to a fan. Rotherham announced on social media that the supporter had left the stadium with medical professionals, thanking everyone for their compassion and patience and expressing concern for the casualty.

Birmingham also updated fans on the situation, thanking everyone for their support and stating that the supporter in question had left the stadium with medical professionals. Rotherham went into the game already relegated from the Championship, with a returning manager Steve Evans eager to lead the players and put on a show. Evans had previously led the club to back-to-back promotions in the 2010s and returned to the team after leaving Stevenage earlier in the week.

Currently, Gary Rowett is at the helm on an interim basis.
