Saudi Pro League player criticized for not picking up his own water bottle – Daily Star

Al-Hilal centre-back Ali Hadi Mohammed Al-Bulaihi, who has 52 caps for the Saudi national team, was celebrating with his team-mates after their 4-1 victory in the Super Cup final on Thursday (April 11). A fan filming in the stands at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi captured the awkward moment Al-Bulaihi asked a member of the Al-Hilal staff to get him a bottle of water. The container was opened for him, but he repeatedly gestured for the bottle to be handed to him so he didn’t have to bend down. The clip was soon shared on social media and began circulating, with fans far and wide calling out the 34-year-old for his rude behaviour.

One argued: “Don’t care who you are… act like this and you deserve a slap.” A second replied: “Some people are so far removed from what is reality for most. For a sports person to treat someone with this lack of respect is such a bad look. Too much money, not enough grace or understanding.”

“Someone needs to teach him the importance of humility,” commented a third, while a fourth wrote: “The money is going to some people’s heads too much… I hope he will be punished properly.” What do you think of the clip?
