The incident occurred when a deputy allegedly found Erin Ward, 45, and a 17-year-old engaged in sex acts inside a Honda Sedan. The police received reports of a suspicious-looking vehicle and found the pair in the back seat.
When the teenager saw the deputy, he panicked and attempted to flee by rushing to the driver’s seat. He was later seen running from the car without any clothes on, and more than an hour later, he was found in a nearby neighborhood wearing only underwear and a t-shirt.
Ward, who remained at the site of the crash, was also allegedly found naked and putting her clothes back on. Ward is reported to be a substitute teacher at multiple schools in the area, including Burke High School, and the vehicle involved in the incident belonged to her and her spouse.
Ward was arrested and charged with one count of felony sexual abuse by a school employee. The investigation is ongoing, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with Omaha Public Schools on the case.
