Tesco y Asda rival named ‘UK’s best supermarket bakery’ amid ‘cult’ following – Daily Star.

If you’re planning to visit a supermarket for baked goods, you might want to check out one that sells a whopping 122 croissants per minute. This supermarket introduces a new limited-edition bake every fortnight, with its latest hit being the Chocolate Cronut, a doughnut-shaped pastry coated in rich melting milk chocolate.

Kantar data reveals that Lidl holds the largest bakery market share in the country, likely due to its strong following and positive social media feedback from customers such as @kalanighosthunter, who left Lidl feeling like a “changed man” after sampling the baked goods. The croissants have received particular raves and have been dubbed “the best” by some.

Scott Davey, senior buying director at Lidl GB, attributes their success to the supermarket’s commitment to providing top-quality products at an affordable price, particularly in their industry-leading bakery. Whether it’s the croissants or one of their unique Special Guests, Lidl’s bakery offerings seem to be gaining popularity across the nation.
