Florin Marin, 30, inherited a £2,000-a-month pension and £100,000 in property after the death of ex-priest Philip Clements in 2020, whom he married three years earlier. Marin, originally from Romania, is now romantically involved with Giovanni Messina, a 53-year-old German-Italian hotel boss. Despite being engaged, he is uncertain about getting married again as he made a promise to Clements not to remarry. He spoke about not having pictures of Clements in their new house in Germany, but he has plenty of them in Romania.

Marin and Messina met 18 months ago and now enjoy extravagant vacations together. Marin admitted sharing details about Clements with both Messina and his recent ex-partner, Jeronimo Jesus de Vega, but they expressed indifference towards his past. Marin, who described himself as a “junior sugar daddy” at 31, referenced feeling “old.” Clements had moved to Romania to be with Marin in 2017, but they eventually separated while Marin dated de Vega, only to reconcile later.

Clements decided to sell his home in Sandwich for £215,000 to buy a flat in Bucharest, which he then transferred to Marin. He passed away shortly after moving to Romania, and at that time, Marin stated that Clements initially refused to go to the hospital but eventually relented. Marin mentioned feeling upset after Clements’s death but remarked that two days of mourning were sufficient as Clements wouldn’t have wanted him to be sad.
