Erik ten Hag’s Response to Claims About Most of Man Utd’s Players Being for Sale, Excluding Three

Various reports this week stated that the club is open to parting ways with all but three of their players in the upcoming transfer window. Neville asked the Dutchman whether the whole squad was under scrutiny following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s purchase of a 27.7% stake in the club earlier this year, before quizzing him on the aforementioned reports and where he believed they had come from.

Ten Hag chuckled and expressed skepticism about the accuracy of the reports, stating, “How many [false] headlines have you seen? If I put all of them together I think there would be a thousand lines which are all untrue.”

When asked if he had full belief in his players going forward, Ten Hag responded by emphasizing the presence of young talented players within the squad.

He also dismissed the notion of selling a large number of players, saying, “As long as I worked here, every summer, 200 players are getting an interest from Manchester United, which is untrue. We did some research.

Every summer, we sell every player in our squad. Which is untrue.

Be calm and take responsibility when you take such a headline.”

Furthermore, Ten Hag highlighted the need to have defenders who could play out from the back in the near future.
