Footballer Takes Advantage of Chinese League Deal by Sending Brother to Stand in for Him at Own Wedding – Daily Star

In 2022, footballer Mohamed Buya Turay found himself in a situation where he had to miss his own wedding due to work commitments. After joining Malmo in Sweden from the Chinese Super League, the Sierra Leone international was unable to return to Africa for his wedding as his new club was unwilling to release him. As a result, Turay sent his brother to stand in for him at the wedding, and photos surfaced of his brother and the bride in their wedding attire. However, the photos were taken in advance, and Turay expressed his hope to bring his wife to Sweden to live with him.

Turay, who had previously won the league in Sweden during a loan spell, later claimed that an injury he suffered was a result of black magic. After a stint with Malmo, he moved to Danish club OB Boldklub.

Despite having to miss his wedding, Turay made the best of the situation and expressed his desire to have his wife live with him in Sweden.
