Kyren Wilson Admits Foul at World Snooker Championship and Makes Playful Remark – Daily Star

Kyren Wilson, of Kettering, was lining up a long pot for a red during a match. He accidentally hit the black ball before potting the red, resulting in the commentators questioning the legality of his shot. Wilson then admitted to the referee that he had indeed committed a foul, earning applause from the Crucible crowd for his honesty. A TV replay of the foul was supposed to be shown, but there was a technical issue as the screen froze, preventing fans from seeing the exact moment of the foul.

There was speculation on social media about whether the foul was legitimate, with one user suggesting that hitting the black first would have prevented the red from going in. Another fan proposed that it could have been a split ball situation, where the balls are struck at the same time, causing the ball to go in a different direction, still constituting a foul. During a previous match against Stuart Bingham, Wilson inadvertently brushed the cueball while lining up for a long pot on a red, but the referee did not notice. Wilson then notified the referee of the foul, receiving applause from the crowd.

The question remains whether Kyren Wilson will defeat John Higgins in the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championship.
