Masters caddie who substituted for a player earns significant amount due to Augusta knowledge.

Tommy Fleetwood made a significant impact at the Masters, despite being without his long-time caddie, Ian Finnis, who was battling a chest infection. Fleetwood’s impressive performance, finishing the week at four under-par, resulted in him earning around $1.04 million (£835,109). As a result, his stand-in caddie, Gray Moore, could receive a substantial $83,200 (£66,808), which represents an eight percent share of the total prize money. Ranked 13th in the world, Fleetwood, a European Ryder Cup star, spoke highly of Moore, with whom he had previously played practice rounds at Augusta in 2017.

Describing him as a “wonderful human being”, Fleetwood cherished the experience of working with Moore during the successful week. Despite the victory being claimed by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Fleetwood delivered a career-best performance at Augusta. Reflecting on his play, he acknowledged having missed out on capitalizing on scorable holes and the par-5s, but overall, he expressed his satisfaction with his performance on Masters Sunday, having played a bogey-free round and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
