The Gunners secured victory in the North London Derby by defeating their rivals 3-2 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (April 28). Mikel Arteta’s side took a 3-0 lead in the first half, showing promising signs of a comfortable victory, however, goals from Cristian Romero and Son Heung-Min threatened a late comeback by Tottenham.

After the game, Merson and Dawson, along with Roy Keane and Micah Richards, discussed the intense match. Merson, seemingly pleased with Arsenal’s victory, teased his colleague by suggesting that Tottenham’s late fight-back could benefit them next year.

He also expressed doubt about Tottenham’s chances of winning the Premier League, stating that they are too vulnerable. Additionally, Merson praised Ange Postecoglou but emphasized the need for consistent performance throughout the season.

He acknowledged that Postecoglou has brought a positive change to the club but stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of performance. In the conversation, Merson also mentioned the support Arsenal fans have shown, attributing it to the team’s struggles over the past years.

He expressed his belief that the fans have been understanding due to the team’s poor performance, but hinted that this leniency may not continue if the team doesn’t improve.
