Ruben Amorim declares the ‘subject settled’ in direct response to Liverpool manager’s job – Daily Star

The Portuguese tactician has been strongly linked with the Anfield hot seat, which will be vacated by Klopp at the end of this season. Amorim, 39, has insisted on diverting attention away from the rumors as he attempts to win a Primeira Liga and Portuguese Cup double in Lisbon. He has reinforced that position by proclaiming he has no agreement in place to move to Merseyside.

“This is the last time I’m going to talk about my future,” said Amorim, per Cabine Desportiva. “There’s been no interview, let alone an agreement. The only thing we all want is to be champions with Sporting, and nothing will change.

“I’m Sporting’s coach. There’s been no interview with any club, no agreement with any club. I’m just focused, as always, on defending my club.

“As I no longer have anything to say, there will be no interviews or agreements with the Sporting coach. That subject is completely settled, whether for this club or another.” They’ve also booked a spot in the Taca de Portugal final, where they’ll face either Porto or Vitoria de Guimaraes. In a way, many Merseysiders may admire Amorim all the more for his refusal to comment on speculation, displaying the kind of integrity they too would expect at Anfield.

However, the inevitable uncertainty about their managerial future as 2024 wears on is sure to grow more tiresome as the weeks and months pass.
