In an interview following the announcement, Eriksson expressed his lifelong aspiration to manage his cherished Liverpool team, a dream that is now set to become a reality. A formal announcement from Liverpool FC confirmed Eriksson’s addition to the LFC Legends management team for the match against Ajax Legends at Anfield on March 23.

The announcement also expressed anticipation for welcoming Sven and his family to Anfield for the fundraising event. The Liverpool playing squad for the game includes Jerzy Dudek, the goalkeeper known for his heroics in Istanbul, and fellow goalkeeper Sander Westerveld. Additionally, former forward Ryan Babel, who played for both Reds and Ajax, will feature for both teams during the game.

The announcement further stated that all proceeds from the fixture, sponsored by AXA, the club’s official training partner, will support the work of the LFC Foundation and its associated charities.
